Important Announcement Regarding Microsoft Products

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional Plus at Software4StudentsAs many of you know, Software4Students has been offering the best discounts in Microsoft software for students and their parents since 2007.

Over the years, we have been offering discounts of up to 90%, in Microsoft's fully functional software. However, Microsoft has recently announced that the programme that was making this possible will come to an end on March 31st, 2012.
Windows 7 Professional Upgrade at Software4Students
The good news is that this is not the end of the great discounts that you love!

Software4Students
hope to introduce a new range of Microsoft Office and Windows 7 products in the future. Although the prices will not be as highly discounted as in the former range, students and parents will still be able to make big savings when buying their favourite Microsoft software.

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage all those who still do not have Windows 7 or Microsoft Office 2010 installed in their laptops or PCs to take advantage of this last chance to enjoy amazing discounts.

This announcement does not affect customers who have purchased Microsoft products before this date. You will still be able to use your software after March 31st.

Which Products are Affected?

The end of this programme affects only Microsoft products. Software from other manufacturers like Adobe, Kaspersky, etc... are not affected by this change. Please continue reading to know which products will no longer be available after March 31st.

 1. Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010
 2. Windows 7 Upgrade editions
 3. Other Microsoft products:
  • Microsoft Expression Web 4
  • Microsoft Expression Studio 4 Ultimate

Sing it Loud!

We will be selling Microsoft's Office 2010 Professional Plus and Windows 7 upgrade at up to 90% off while stocks last. So hurry up to secure your copy before we run out of them! Likewise, don't let this opportunity pass your friends and family - sing it and sing it loud, let them know that this offer, to get 90% off full versions of MS Office and Windows 7, is ending soon.

If you're a parent tell your kids, if you're a teacher tell your students or if you're a social media wizard spread the word online!

We want to hear from you!

I can't believe it! I saved nearly £400 on Microsoft Office 2010. I hope everyone out there gets to purchase before the scheme ends! Thanks Software4Students - such a great company!

I think this is a terrible move for Microsoft. The cost of student living being on the rise etc. No-one will pay £600 for office while they're a student and I expect it will lead to more people looking for free alternatives like Google docs and LibreOffice.

I cannot believe this scheme is going to end! As a parent I started using it when our son got his first laptop in 2007 during post-primary education. He is now at university and he has both a laptop and mac laptop which are essential for the degree course he is on. Had it not been for software for students we certainly couldn't have afforded to keep his systems up to date for him. Thank you sfs - I hope you can keep up the good work in the future

Well, there goes any chance of upgrading to Windows 8 and Office "15" in the next year! What a way to help the students Microsoft!

This is a terrible move by Microsoft. We run a University Distance Learning Training Course with over 900+ students enrolled. Its all based around Microsoft Office and loads of our students used the S4S software to enable them to keep up to date with the course development and learn to user Office. Now Microsoft have simply shot themselves in the foot and we will simply base the course around other software

Microsoft are fools if they pull the plug on this. Do they really think people will pay £400+ for this software? S4S, you have helped my daughters education through primary so thank you very much. Let's hope they have a rethink on this in the not so distant future!!!

What a shame Microsoft are ending the programme - especially at a time when ordinary families are struggling to survive financially, and university fees are going up. Thanks to the scheme, both my daughters were able to install several Microsoft programmes on their own computers for coursework - and as an Adult Tutor, I was able to use them on my computer to plan lessons and produce handouts to teach a range of courses, including IT skills. Normal price for Microsoft would have been completely out of our price range - and it was important to be able to use the same software we found everywhere else. Younger families now won't have that option - which will really put so many at a disadvantage. What a pity.

Not the brightest move Microsoft will make, be good to students today and you could earn lifelong loyalty, turn them away and send them down the cheapest/free route now and they will be unlikely buy your products in the future. If it wasn't for S4S we would be using free alternatives (not always the best but the best on a budget!)

Very short sighted Will just lead to More non genuine copies being downloaded :( which isn't Good for anybody :(

It's a real shame. This is often the first stage of getting someone to use MS products. The scheme has made it possible for those on lower incomes to be educated on a level playing field and both MS and S4S should be applauded for the 1000s of kids that they have helped in this way. I think MS will suffer in the end as more people will progress to Open Office software.

All this will do is encourage the Pirates and cheats of our world to make copies SHAME ON YOU BILL GATES!!!!

Well I think sales will drop, I wouldn't have got office 2010 if not for your website and I think there are many students and parents that couldn't afford to pay the full price, as said previously it will just encourage piracy.

This is a ridiculous move by Microsoft. I'm a third year Uni student, and software4students enabled me to use office throughout both my A Levels and degree course - I would never have been able to afford it otherwise. As others have said, people will now turn to the free Google Docs - by necessity, if not choice.

At a time of financial critical mass for many families in the UK and a matter of months post University fee rises, this will be the death Knell for many folk intending to use Microsoft...as some have already said, it will pave the way for Pirates and fraudsters. No doubt about that. Thank you S4S - and indeed Microsoft thus far - for such a varied and affordable collection of programmes. But here on in? Well I think Open Office works just fine...

It is a great shame that Microsoft is changing this! These discounts really do help people who wouldn't be able to afford such great software from Microsoft if they were normal prices.

Got a shock when I saw this announcement - can't believe MS are doing that, it's very short-sighted as the other posters have said. I bought the majority of my software at S4S over the years - it has taken me through three laptops. I always recommend this site to my teacher colleagues and the students too; many would continue to purchase MS products in their future years. Any hope of reversing the policy?

And as they make their software inaccessible to students and schoolchildren, they are starting a new offer for public sector workers (and presumably workers of any other organisations with MS licences?) Nice to know where their priorities lie.

Well, it's typical of Microsoft to do something like this. After all, they know (or thought) that they have a captive audience. This will only lead to more people migrating away from Microsoft products towards LinuX and OpenOffice etc. Perhaps the big boys running Microsoft need to switch on to the real world and understand that there really is competition out there.

Thankyou, software4students, while it lasted!! but this is a bad move by microsoft, there is just no way i will be paying full price for their software (namely windows 8). I hope for their sake that they are upping their security against piracy, i was ok with paying up to £40 for windows professional and £20+ for office, but its just not worth over £100 '.' I do feel guilty using torrents, but when companies try to take the micky with pricing, what other options do we (as students) have?

Well, let's face it. Microsoft is only about profit. Their software sucks. The only reason we use it, is that most everyone else uses it.

What about Office Professional Plus 2007? That's currently £48, compared to £303. Will that still be available?

I'm really sorry to hear this, I couldnt believe my luck when I discovered Software4students, which was recommended in an Amazon review, as a student I could not have afforded the full Office package, which has been really helpful in my studies. A sad day and very short sighted I think.

First of all we have an Ideal opportunity to use legitimate software for our grandchildren which has been highly advantageous to them in their education. What this now means is a possible move back to pirate software it will be worth taking the risk, I am sure there will be some who choose this route. Come on Microsoft have a re-think and keep them “GATES” open and legal.

I have been using software purchased through you for several years. It has been an enormous help, having seen me through an honours degree and other courses. I think it is a retrograde step by Microsoft who's they will soon realise and they will reverse this decision.

without these discounts, OU students like myself would struggle to afford to keep studying. I'm studying DipHE in IT. Windows 7 is crucial and these changes make me feel like steering away from microsoft server acreditation and adding my support to linux instead. Bad form microsoft. Very bad form.

Only just discovered your site in time then - thankfully! My son needs MS Office 2010 to do his GCSE work and I just wouldn't have been able to afford it after 31st March! Just hope the free providers continue with their products!

Without this program I couldn't have afforded to have a Windows machine in my house for my kid. He'd be a Linux boy like me. As it is, he gets exposure to both. Perhaps Microsoft are culling this because they're getting good numbers into schools nowadays and reckon their indoctrination can cope without this?
