Let's Get The World In Notion
If you've ever worked in an office then you've probably been subjected at one time or another to a particular phrase or saying that made your skin crawl.
As we prepared during the week for Monday's official launch of our new audio software range, I found myself on the phone to my counterpart over at Notion Music UK using phrases like "going forward" and other office speak. As soon as I finished the call there was a voice in my head that said "do not start using language like that ever again!"
So from behind my evil desk in marketing I'm going to make more of an effort to communciate without resorting to language that even Gordon Gekko would snarl at. Thankfully, a short time later I stumbled upon this article "50 Office-Speak Phrases You Love To Hate" over at news.bbc.co.uk which makes for good reading.
Until now Software4Students core focus has been solely on Microsoft software. As a Microsoft Partner it's great to offer students and family great deals on the likes of Office Enterprise, Expression Studio, or SharePoint, but we do get requests for other types of software.

Ease-of-use is very important because I strongly believe that the more you use a software product, the more value for money you get out of it. Console games cost around £40 and often don't have much replay value. Whereas I could see a guitar player getting endless use out of powerful yet cheap guitar software like Progression, and musicians in general loving the notation software Protégé.
And in case you doubt your own ability or talent just remember that even world class footballers like John Barnes thought they could rap so maybe there's hope for the rest of us...
