Last week the Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin had her Yahoo! email account hacked and private emails were made public. While she may be a public figure, the truth is that free email accounts such as Yahoo! are wide open to hacking and it can happen to anyone.

At Software4Students, we receive a lot of calls from potential customers asking us which Microsoft Office package we recommend. Our answer is always the same: Standard, Pro Plus or Enterprise each have their merits but do not buy the Home & Student version.

Why? It doesn't come with Outlook.

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking, "why do I need Outlook when I go to a website to check my email?" and that's exactly the same school of thought which brought huge embarrassment to Sarah Palin.

Anyone Can Be A Victim Of Email Hacking

Outlook 2007 is the smart way to email
Protect Your Privacy

Setting up your email in Outlook takes
less time then making a cup of tea.

Work and personal emails can all be filtered through Outlook and with inbuilt calendars and reminders, it's a lot easier to remember birthdays, events, etc.

And for around 87p per month, you could even have your own unique email address.

Example:
mail@JohnSmith.co.uk (87p per month)
or
John_Smith_203@yahoo.co.uk (free)

Take Control Over Your Email

The most popular free email providers, such as Yahoo!, are prime targets for hackers.

Therefore, if you don't want an unique email, you can still use the free email address you received with your mobile phone or ISP. Set it up in Outlook and away you go.

And because Outlook will remember your details, you can come up with a strong alpha-numeric password. With mobile internet set to grow dramatically, you'll be able to access your emails on your phone using the same techniques.

It's only when you lose your mobile phone that you wish you had backed up your numbers. All that and more is possible with Outlook.

It's YOUR inbox - time to take the power back!
