Software4Students Sent Laura Wellings to Leeds Festival 2011
Most of you will remember we ran a
'feel good factor' competition in May/June 2011 to motivate our students through their final few weeks of exam preparation and coursework.
We gave one lucky student the chance to win ‘Software4Students VIP treatment’
- 2 weekend camping tickets, plus a tent, plus £200 spending money
to Reading or Leeds Festival 2011.
The contest attracted over
11,000+ entries and was a huge success!
Our winner, Laura Wellings
from Telford, wrote about her experience at Leeds.
Two Weekend Tickets, £200 cash and glam camping!
After winning
Software4Students’ competition, I was awarded with two weekend
tickets to
last month’s Leeds festival with £200 spending
money! I shared the prize with my boyfriend, who came with me
to the festival, along with two more of my friends who were
already going to the festival. To make the prize even better,
Software4Students had arranged for our tent to be all set up
for us when we arrived at the festival, with access to private
toilets and showers - glam camping!
We arrived at the festival on Thursday in the sunshine and
were shown to our pre-pitched tent. It was a lot more
glamorous than where we had camped before and made the camping
side of the festival much less stressful, especially with
access to the showers and hair straighteners!
On Friday it rained all day, but
we didn’t let it keep us away from the bands. We enjoyed the likes
of Taking Back Sunday, Panic! at the Disco, and headliners Muse.
The £200 spending money came in when we were cold and wet on
Friday, as we
 brought ourselves some Leeds festival hoodies to
keep us warm! Saturday was our best day at the festival for the
line-up. It brought more rain, but also more great bands like
TheVaccines, Noah and the Whale, headliners My Chemical Romance
and more.
It finally stopped raining on Sunday. We stayed
at main stage, enjoying The Pigeon Detectives, Two Door Cinema
Club, Madness and Pulp. We had a great weekend at Leeds festival.
A few if my favourites from the festival were The Vaccines, Panic
at the Disco, Noah and the Whale, and headliners Muse and My
Chemical Romance.
We really enjoyed it and will always remember
this great prize - thanks Software4Students!
